1st Congress Of The Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Of Ukraine
The 1st Congress of the CP(b)U (Communist Party of Ukraine (Soviet Union)) was held in Moscow in July 5–12, 1918. It was a constituent congress which led to creation of the political party by way of uniting existing Russian Bolsheviks in Ukraine and left faction of the Ukrainian Social-Democrats. The congress took place at address ulica Rozhdestvenka, 11 (later ulica Zhdanova). Today in the building is located MArchI (Moscow Architectural Institute). The 65 plenipotentiary and 147 consultative delegates represented 45 Party organizations that were accounted for over 4,000 Party members. The congress also attended about 60 guests. Volodymyr Petrovych Zatonsky ( uk, Володи́мир Зато́нський, russian: Влади́мир Петро́вич Зато́нский ''Vladimir Petrovich Zatonsky''; July 27, 1888 – July 29, 1938) was a Soviet politician, academic, Communist Party activist, full member of the Ukrainian SSR Academy of Sciences (from 1929) and Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union (from 1936). Isaac Schwartz (revolutionary)
Isaac Iosifovich Schwartz (russian: Исаак Иосифович Шварц; 13 May 1923 – 27 December 2009), also known as Isaak Shvarts, was a Soviet composer. Schwartz was born in Romny in the Ukrainian SSR in 1923. His family moved to Leningrad in 1930, where he learned to play the piano. He gave his first concert in 1935 with the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra. Schwartz's father was professor of archeology at the Leningrad State University: he was arrested in 1936 and executed two years later as part of the Great Purge.. Schwartz's family was exiled to Kyrgyzstan in 1937, and Schwartz gave private music lessons in Frunze (now Bishkek) as well as occasionally accompanying the silent films at the cinema with live music. Pinkhus Rovner
Pinkhus Rovner ( uk, Пінхус Ровнер; 1875–1919) was a Jewish Ukrainian Bolshevik revolutionary. He also was known under his aliases Akim or Akimov. Biography Born in 1875 the native of Mykolaiv, Pinkhus Lazarevych Rovner was a worker at one of the Mykolaiv shipbuilding factories. In 1902 he joined the workers' movement and in the next year became a member of the RSDLP. In 1903 the gendarmerie of Mykolaiv opened a file on him when a 32-year-old mechanic, Rovner, was arrested for spreading illegal literature and being a member of the RSDLP. On August 6, 1906 Rovner was detained again among 13 other participants of the meeting at 20 First Cartwright Street in Mykolaiv. After three months of arrest he was exiled to Olonets Governorate. In 1908 Rovner returned to Mykolaiv along with Filipp Andreev, Ivan Chigrin and other Bolsheviks to reestablish the RSDLP(b) committee in the city. Rafail Borisovich Farbman (russian: Рафаи́л Бори́сович Фа́рбман, uk, Рафаіл Борисович Фарбман; 1893–1966) was a revolutionary Bolshevik and Soviet politician. Biography Born in 1893 in Kursk, in to a Jewish family. Farbman was a member of RSDLP since 1910 at the age of 17. He conducted revolutionary activities in Kiev. In 1914 he was arrested and exiled to Tobolsk Governorate. Yury Kharitonovich (or Khrisanfovich) Lutovinov (russian: Юрий Харитонович/Хрисантович Лутовинов; 1887–1924) was a Russian Bolshevik revolutionary and labor leader, of working-class extraction. Lutovinov was born in Luhansk. He started work in metals factories in the Donbas as a teenager, and joined the Bolshevik Party in 1904. Lutovinov also was an activist in the Russian Metalworkers' Union. During World War I, Lutovinov worked at the Aivaz factory in Petrograd and helped arrange the transport of Bolshevik literature to the Donbas. In spring of 1918 he was a chairman of the Soviet government of the Luhansk Oblast and then the Donetsk-Kryvoi Rog Republic. During the Russian Civil War, Lutovinov served at the Red Army and was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Ukraine. Isaak Mironovich Kreisberg ( uk, Ісак Миронович Крейсберг) was Soviet political figure of Ukraine. Born in 1898 in Kiev, Kreisberg was taking part in a revolutionary movement since 1912. In 1914 he joined the RSDLP and in 1915 was arrested and given three years of katorga (correctional labor) in arrest-companies of Kiev (released after the February Revolution). In March 1917 Kreisberg was elected to secretary of Kiev committee of RSDLP(b) and in April - June 1917 he was a member of the Southwestern regional committee of RSDLP(b) and executive committee of the Kiev council of workers' deputies.
