1994–95 Los Angeles Clippers Season
The 1994–95 NBA season was the Clippers' 25th season in the National Basketball Association, and their first season in Anaheim. In the 1994 NBA draft, the Clippers selected Lamond Murray from the University of California with the seventh pick. During the off-season, the team acquired Pooh Richardson, Malik Sealy and rookie guard Eric Piatkowski from the Indiana Pacers, and signed free agent Tony Massenburg. The Clippers started the season playing their first two games against the Portland Trail Blazers in Yokohama, Japan. However, under new head coach Bill Fitch, they struggled losing their first 16 games of the season, as Stanley Roberts missed the entire season with a ruptured Achilles tendon. Bill Fitch
William Charles Fitch (May 19, 1932 – February 2, 2022) was an American professional basketball coach in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He developed multiple teams into playoff contenders and won an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 1981. Before entering the professional ranks, he coached college basketball at the University of Minnesota, Bowling Green State University, the University of North Dakota, and his alma mater, Coe College. Fitch's teams twice qualified for the NCAA tournament. He won the Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013, and was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019. Eric Piatkowski
Eric Todd Piatkowski (; born September 30, 1970) is an American former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He is the son of former ABA player Walt Piatkowski. High school career Piatkowski attended Rapid City Stevens High School and was a student and a standout in basketball. In basketball, as a senior, he led his team to the 1989 South Dakota Class AA State Championship, was an All-State selection, and was named the Mr. Basketball for the State of South Dakota. 1995–96 New York Knicks Season
The 1995–96 NBA season was the 50th season for the Knicks in the National Basketball Association in New York City, New York. After Pat Riley left to coach the Miami Heat, the Knicks hired Don Nelson as their new head coach (their "Plan B" after Chuck Daly rejected their offer). The team also signed free agent Gary Grant in November. The Knicks won ten of their first twelve games, leading to a 16–5 start and held a 30–16 record at the All-Star break. Gary Grant (born April 21, 1965) is a retired American professional basketball player at the point guard position in the National Basketball Association (NBA). College career Gary "The General" Grant played for Canton McKinley High School and collegiately at the University of Michigan. Gary received his BA in Kinesiology. Kia Forum (formerly The Forum) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Inglewood, California, United States, adjacent to Los Angeles. 1994–95 Los Angeles Lakers Season
The 1994–95 NBA season was the Lakers' 47th season in the National Basketball Association, and 35th in the city of Los Angeles. This was the first season since 1981–82 that All-Star forward James Worthy was not on the team, as he announced his retirement in November. After missing the playoffs the previous season, the Lakers had the tenth pick in the 1994 NBA draft, and selected Eddie Jones out of Temple University. With new head coach Del Harris, along with the off-season acquisition of Cedric Ceballos from the Phoenix Suns, the Lakers struggled with a 3–5 start, but then won ten of their next twelve games, and held a 29–16 record at the All-Star break. Charles "Bo" Outlaw (born April 13, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player. Outlaw was known for his athleticism, tenacious defensive approach and sub-par free-throw shooting (.521 for his career). Lennox Dominique "Terry" Dehere (born September 12, 1971) is an American former basketball player who played six seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and was an All-American college player at Seton Hall University. Following his playing career, Dehere became active in Democratic Party politics, as well as a restaurateur. Loy Vaught
Loy Stephen Vaught (born February 27, 1968) is an American former professional basketball player who spent ten seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), primarily with the Los Angeles Clippers. Vaught played at East Kentwood High School in Kentwood, Michigan, a suburb of Grand Rapids, and helped lead the University of Michigan Wolverines to the 1989 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. Vaught was drafted in 1990 by the Los Angeles Clippers.
