Hoesch AG
Hoesch AG was an important steel and mining company with locations in the Ruhr area and Siegen. In 1871, Hoesch was founded by Leopold Hoesch. In 1938, Hoesch employed 30,000 people. In 1972, the prominent steel producer merged with the Dutch Hoogovens steel company to form Estel. It was formerly the largest employer in Dortmund. In 1982, the merger with Dutch company Estel was stopped by Detlev Karsten Rohwedder, and Hoesch became again an own company. Pascal Bodmer (born 4 January 1991) is a German ski jumper who has competed since 2004. He finished 31st in the individual normal hill event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Having made his Continental Cup debut in July 2006, his best result is the victory from Velenje in July 2008. He won a gold medal in the team competition at the 2008 Junior World Ski Championships. He made his World Cup debut in February 2007 in Titisee-Neustadt, and collected his first World Cup points with a 29th place in Klingenthal in February 2007. He was born in Balingen, but hails from Hossingen. His brother Patrick competed in the Continental Cup. 1991 German Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 1991 German motorcycle Grand Prix was the sixth round of the 1991 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 24–26 May 1991 at the Hockenheim circuit. This was the first motorcycle racing in Germany after the German reunification 500 cc race report Mick Doohan was on pole, Wayne Rainey was 1 second back in 4th, with Eddie Lawson on the front row again on the ever-improving Cagiva. Doohan took the lead at the start ahead from Rainey, Eddie Lawson and John Kocinski. Doohan and Rainey developed a small gap to Kevin Schwantz, Lawson and Wayne Gardner. In the stadium section, Rainey tried to go through the inside of Doohan, but going off the racing line proved too slippery and he had to sit-up and got Schwantz on his back wheel. Rainey recovered his rhythm and passed Doohan, but Schwantz was closing. Kocinski crashed out. Doohan re-took the lead of the trio with Rainey and Schwantz. 1991 German Grand Prix
The 1991 German Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at the Hockenheimring on 28 July 1991. It was the ninth race of the 1991 Formula One World Championship, and the first German Grand Prix to be held in Germany after the reunification between West and East Germany. The 45-lap race was won from pole position by British driver Nigel Mansell, driving a Williams-Renault. It was Mansell's third consecutive Grand Prix victory. His Italian teammate Riccardo Patrese finished second, with Frenchman Jean Alesi third in a Ferrari. Drivers' Championship leader, Brazilian Ayrton Senna, failed to score in his McLaren-Honda after running out of fuel for the second consecutive race, allowing Mansell to close to within eight points of him. Pre-race Ayrton Senna spent a night in a hospital in Mannheim after crashing during pre-race testing a week earlier.
