The 1985 San Diego Chargers season was the franchise's 16th season in the National Football League (NFL), its 26th overall. The team improved on their 7–9 record from 1984 to an 8–8 finish. For the third time in five years, the Chargers led the league in scoring. It was Don Coryell's final full season as the team's head coach, as he would resign halfway through the following season after a 1–7 start. Curtis Ladonn Adams (born April 30, 1962) is a former American football player. He played running back at Central Michigan University and with the San Diego Chargers of the NFL. Early life Adams was born on April 30, 1962 in Muskegon, Michigan. He attended Orchard View High School. College career In 1982, Adams was a second-team All-American selection by the UPI and was named Mid-American Conference "Offensive Player of the Year". He was first in team all-MAC selection three straight years. Curtis gained 1,090, 1,431, and 1,204 yards in his final three seasons at Central Michigan. Montana State Bobcats Football
The Montana State Bobcats football program competes in the Big Sky Conference of the NCAA's Division I Football Championship Subdivision for Montana State University. The program began in 1897 and has won three national championships (1956, 1976, and 1984). It is the only college football program in the nation to win national championships on three different levels of competition, NAIA, NCAA Division II, and NCAA Division I-AA (now FCS). Through the 2022 season, the Bobcats had played in 1,049 games with an all-time record of 525–492–32. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. Mark Fellows (born February 26, 1963) is a former American football linebacker for the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Montana State. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers with the 196th overall pick in the 1985 NFL Draft. He played for the Chargers in 1985 and 1986. College career Fellows played for Montana State from 1981 to 1984. In his senior year, Fellows set a school record with 23 sacks, as the team went on to win the 1984 NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship Game. A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Punters may also occasionally take part in fake punts in those same situations, when they throw or run the football instead of punting. Skills and usage The purpose of the punt is to force the team that is receiving the kick to start as far as possible from the kicking team's end zone. Long Beach State 49ers Football
The Long Beach State 49ers football team represented California State University, Long Beach from the 1955 through 1991 seasons. The 49ers originally competed as an Independent before joining the California Collegiate Athletic Association in 1958. By the 1969 season, the 49ers would join the Pacific Coast Athletic Association (now the Big West) as a founding member, where they remained until the program was suspended following the 1991 season.
