Frank Annunzio (January 12, 1915 – April 8, 2001) was an American politician from Chicago, Illinois. Annunzio, an Italian-American, was born in Chicago, where he remained for his entire childhood and much of his adult life. He attended Crane Technical High School and DePaul University. He then had careers as a high school teacher and labor leader of the United Steelworkers of America. Under governor Adlai Stevenson II, he served as the state's Secretary of Labor from 1949 to 1952. In 1964, Annunzio was elected to the United States House of Representatives from a district in Chicago as a member of the United States Democratic Party. He was re-elected 13 times and served from 1965 to 1993, deciding not to run for reelection in 1992. He was chairman of several committees including the House Administration Committee during his later terms in congress, and was particularly notable for serving on a subcommittee for consumer affairs. The 1960 United States House of Representatives elections was an election for the United States House of Representatives in 1960, which coincided with the election of President John F. Kennedy and was the first house election to feature all 50 current U.S. states. Tim Lee Hall (June 11, 1925 – November 12, 2008) was an American politician and Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from Illinois for one term from 1975 to 1977. Early life and career Born in West Frankfort, Illinois, Hall was educated in West Frankfort public schools. During World War II, he and his twin brother left high school in the middle of their junior year to enlist in the United States Coast Guard in 1943. Hall served in both the Atlantic theater and Pacific theater. After the war, he completed high school. He earned a bachelor of arts from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1951. He earned a Masters of Education Administration and Supervision from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale in 1956, and did graduate work at Valparaiso University in 1965. The 1934 United States House of Representatives elections were held in the middle of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's first term. The Democratic Party continued its progress, gaining another 9 net seats from the opposition Republican Party, who also lost seats to the Progressive Party. The Republicans were reduced below one-fourth of the chamber for the first time since the creation of the party. The Wisconsin Progressive Party, a liberal group which allied with the Democrats, also became a force in Wisconsin politics. The 1934 elections can be seen as a referendum on New Deal policies. While conservatives and people among the middle class who did not bear the brunt of the depression saw New Deal programs as radical, lower-income voters overwhelmingly voted in this election cycle to continue the implementation of Roosevelt's agenda. The 1962 United States House of Representatives elections was an election for the United States House of Representatives in 1962, which occurred in the middle of President John F. Kennedy's term. As in most midterm elections, Kennedy's Democratic Party lost seats to the opposition Republican Party, but retained a majority. House Democrats were expected to lose their majority, but the resolution over the Cuban Missile Crisis just a few weeks prior led to a rebound in approval for the Democrats under President Kennedy. The number of seats up for election went back to 435, in accordance with reapportionment resulting from the 1960 census. The membership had been increased temporarily to 437 in 1959, providing 1 seat each for the new states of Alaska and Hawaii, while the other 435 seats continued with the reapportionment resulting from the 1950 census. Robert McClory (January 31, 1908 – July 24, 1988) was a U.S. Representative from Illinois. Born in Riverside, Illinois, McClory attended the public schools, L'Institut Sillig, Vevey, Switzerland from 1925 to 1926, and Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire from 1926 to 1928. He graduated from Chicago–Kent College of Law in 1932. He was admitted to the bar in 1932 and thereafter engaged in the practice of law in state and federal courts in Cook and Lake counties. He was the village attorney of Lake Bluff, Illinois, and was the ScoutMaster of Lake Bluff Boy Scout Troop 42. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve 1933–1937.
