The 1967 UCLA Bruins football team represented the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the 1967 NCAA University Division football season. The Bruins competed in what was then officially known as the Athletic Association of Western Universities, but informally known as the Pacific-8 Conference, a name it would formally adopt in June 1968. Tommy Prothro
James Thompson "Tommy" Prothro Jr. (July 20, 1920 – May 14, 1995) was an American football coach. He was the head coach at Oregon State University from 1955 to 1964 and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 1965 to 1970, compiling a career college football record of 104–55–5 (). Prothro moved to the professional ranks of the National Football League (NFL) in 1971 as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams, a position he held for two seasons. UCLA Bruins Football
The UCLA Bruins football program represents the University of California, Los Angeles, in college football as members of the Pac-12 Conference at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level. The Bruins play their home games at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The 1967 Syracuse Orangemen football team represented Syracuse University during the 1967 NCAA University Division football season. The Orangemen were led by 19th-year head coach Ben Schwartzwalder and played their home games at Archbold Stadium in Syracuse, New York. The Victory Bell is the trophy that is awarded to the winner of the UCLA–USC football rivalry game. The game is an American college football rivalry between the UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans, part of the overall UCLA–USC rivalry. The Victory Bell is a brass bell that originally rang atop a Southern Pacific railroad locomotive. It is currently mounted on a special wheeled carriage. The 1967 USC Trojans football team represented the University of Southern California (USC) in the 1967 NCAA University Division football season. In their eighth year under head coach John McKay, the Trojans compiled a 10–1 record (6–1 against conference opponents), won the Athletic Association of Western Universities (AAWU or Pac-8) championship, and outscored their opponents by a combined total of 258 to 87. The 1967 Washington Huskies football team was an American football team that represented the University of Washington during the 1967 NCAA University Division football season. In its eleventh season under head coach Jim Owens, the team compiled a 5–5 record, tied for fourth place in the Athletic Association of Western Universities (Pac-8), and outscored its opponents 136 to 130. Washington won only two of its six home games; the notable victory was over the "Giant Killers" of Oregon State in the conference opener.
