Peter Urban (presenter)
Peter Urban (born 14 April 1948 in Bramsche, Lower Saxony) is a German musician and radio host. Urban has been the German commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest since 1997, following Jan Hofer. Due to illness in 2009, he was unable to commentate on the 2009 Contest, with Tim Frühling filling in, but he returned to commentate in 2010. Urban has also commentated on the Eurovision Dance Contest since 2007. Otto Waalkes
Otto Gerhard Waalkes (born 22 July 1948) is a German comedian, actor, and musician. He became famous in the 1970s and 1980s in Germany with his shows, books and films. His best known trademark are the 'Ottifanten' ('Ottiphants'), elephant-like comic characters of his own design. They featured on the cover of his first album release. Waalkes also works as a voice actor, providing the German voices of Mushu in Disney's ''Mulan'', Sid the Sloth in the ''Ice Age'' franchise, and the Grinch in ''The Grinch'', among others. Hartmut Michel (; born 18 July 1948) is a German biochemist, who received the 1988 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for determination of the first crystal structure of an integral membrane protein, a membrane-bound complex of proteins and co-factors that is essential to photosynthesis. Wolf Erlbruch (30 June 1948 – 11 December 2022) was a German illustrator and writer of children's books, who became professor at several universities. He combined various techniques for the artwork in his books, including cutting and pasting, drawing, and painting. His style was sometimes surrealist and is widely copied inside and outside Germany. Some of his storybooks have challenging themes such as death and the meaning of life. They won many awards, including the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 1993 and 2003. Jürgen Stark (born 31 May 1948 in Gau-Odernheim, Germany) is a German economist who served as a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank from 2006 to 2011 and concurrently as ECB chief economist.
