1910 Copa Del Rey
The Copa del Rey 1910 comprised two different competitions held the same year. Due to disagreements between the reigning champion of the tournament, Club Ciclista de San Sebastián, and some of the clubs invited, in 1910 two parallel competitions were held: an "official", organized by the newly created FEF (Federación Española de Fútbol) later Royal Spanish Football Federation ( es, Real Federación Española de Fútbol, RFEF), in Madrid and an "unofficial", organized by the UECF (Unión Española de Clubes de Fútbol), in San Sebastián. Club Ciclista De San Sebastián
Club Ciclista de San Sebastián was a cycling club based in San Sebastián, Basque Country, Spain. In 1909 the football section won the Copa del Rey. A few months after this victory, the players who had won the tournament founded the club that would later become Real Sociedad. History The San Sebastián Cycling Club was founded in February 1907 as a sports club dedicated to the practice of cycling, which had a great following in the city at that time. The main promoter of this hobby was Julián Comet, a French citizen who had settled in the city at the end of the 19th century. Comet was a great lover of cycling and he was the driving force behind the first, but short-lived, velodrome in the city, the Atocha Velodrome, installed in 1906, where the world cycling figures of the time would pass. Copa Del Rey
The Campeonato de España–Copa de Su Majestad el Rey, commonly known as Copa del Rey or simply La Copa and formerly known as Copa del Presidente de la República (1932–36) and Copa del Generalísimo (1939–76), is an annual knockout football competition in Spanish football, organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The competition was founded in 1903, thus making it the oldest Spanish football competition played at a national level. It is considered one of the most prestigious ''national cup'' trophies in the world. Copa del Rey winners qualify for the following season's UEFA Europa League. José Manuel Kindelán
José Manuel Kindelán Duany (8 October 1887 – 9 November 1919) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender for RCD Espanyol and Sociedad Gimnástica. Biography Born in Cádiz, he moved to Madrid as a child, and enventually joined Club Español de Madrid in 1908, helping the club win its first piece of silverware, the 1908–09 Centro Championship, and then reached the 1909 Copa del Rey Final, which they lost 1-3 to Club Ciclista. His great campaign with Español earned him a move to Sociedad Gimnástica in 1909, featuring alongside the likes of José Carruana and Sócrates Quintana. Kindelán once again played an important role in the first piece of silverware of a club, this time contributing to Gimnástica winning the 1909–10 Centro Championship, and again in 1910–11 and 1913–14. Tiro Del Pichón
Tiro del Pichón (), also known as Campo del Retiro (Buen Retiro Park, Retiro), or Campo de la Rana (), was the first football pitch of Real Madrid CF, Real Madrid between 1901 and 1902. They were not an official club at that time, playing Exhibition game, friendly games on this field. Meetings were held there until 1903, the date the entity moved to the Campo de Jorge Juan. The main team at this stadium was Atlético Madrid. They used this field between 1902 and 1913 before moving to Campo de O'Donnell (Atlético Madrid), Campo de O'Donnell from 1913 to 1923. Romà Forns
Romà Forns Saldaña (died 26 April 1942) was a Spanish footballer and manager. He made his debut as a footballer in late 1902 playing one season for Irish FC but spent the rest of his career with FC Barcelona and the Catalan XI, always as a forward. He later served on the Barcelona board of directors and then coached the club between 1927 and 1929, guiding it to the first ever La Liga championship. He was the first manager from either Spain or Catalonia to take charge of the club. During his playing career, Forns helped Barcelona win the Championat de Catalunya on five occasions and the Copa del Rey once. Among his teammates at the club were Ernest Witty, Francisco Bru, Paulino Alcántara and Jack Greenwell. Percival Wallace Midgley
Percival Francis Wallace Midgley (1890 – 17 November 1949) was an English footballer who played as a forward for Spanish club FC Barcelona. His older brother, Charles, also played for Barcelona. Club career Born in Saffron Walden, his family moved to Barcelona when he was still a child. In 1910 he joined FC Barcelona, where his brother Charles also played, and despite playing for the club for just over a year (1910–11), Percival managed to win the three main titles at stake: Catalan championship (1910–11), Copa del Rey (1910) and the Pyrenees Cup (1911). The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. José Rodríguez (footballer, Born 1889)
José Rodríguez Vázquez (20 August 1889 - 1972), also known as Pepe Rodríguez, was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for FC Barcelona. In his first season at Barcelona (1909–10), Pepe won all the titles at stake: The Catalan championship, Copa del Rey and Pyrenees Cup, and he was fundamental in Barça's triumphs as he netted the winning goal in both cup finals. Pepe scored in both cup finals in 1912 as well. In 1912, he was part of the first-ever team fielded by the Catalan national team in an international match recognized by FIFA. Charles Wallace Midgley
Charles William Wallace Midgley (20 January 1885 – 13 December 1942) was an English footballer who played as a forward for Spanish club FC Barcelona. Along with his younger brother, Percival, he was part of the first great team of FC Barcelona, with whom he scored 105 goals in just 102 matches, although this tally includes goals scored in friendlies and unofficial games. Vicente Álvarez-Buylla Lozana (4 March 1890 - 27 November 1969) was a Spanish footballer, diplomat and writer. He had three brothers, Benito, Plácido and Adolfo, with the first two also being writers and the latter two also being footballers.
