The 1999 NCAA Division I-A football season, 1999 UCF Golden Knights football season was Mike Kruczek's second year as the head coach of the Golden Knights. Looking to build on the success of a nine-win season the 1998 UCF Golden Knights football team, year before, the Knights visited five Power Five conferences, high-profile opponents. Kruczek led UCF to an overall record of 4–7. With the departure of Daunte Culpepper to the 1999 NFL draft, NFL draft, the quarterback duties were taken over by college journeyman Vic Penn. On two occasions, the Golden Knights nearly upset a major Southeastern Conference, SEC opponent on the road. Mike Kruczek
Michael Francis Kruczek (born March 15, 1953) is an American football coach and former quarterback. He is currently the offensive coordinator, under his son Garrett Kruczek, the head football coach for Lake Brantley High School of Florida. Playing career Kruczek earned All-America in 1975 as a quarterback at Boston College where he set several B.C. passing and total offense records. * 1974: 104/151 for 1,275 yards with 6 TD vs 7 INT * 1975: 107/164 for 1,132 yards with 6 TD vs 7 INT He was selected in the second round of the 1976 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and played in 29 games for them from 1976 to 1979 and was a member of Super Bowl championship squads in 1978 and 1979. The 1999 Georgia Bulldogs football team represented the University of Georgia as a member of the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference during the 1999 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their fourth year under head coach Jim Donnan, the Bulldogs compiled an overall record of 8–4 record with a mark of 5–3 in conference play, an placing third in the SEC's Eastern Division. Georgia was invited to the Outback Bowl, where the Bulldogs defeated Purdue. The team played home games at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia. Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field is the football stadium located at the corner of North Avenue at Techwood Drive on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
