The 1983 Argentina rugby union tour of Australia was a series of seven matches played by the Argentina national rugby union team in Australia in July and August 1983. Hugo Porta
Hugo Porta (born 11 September 1951) is an Argentine retired rugby union player. Considered one of the best fly-halves the sport has seen, he is an inductee of both the International Rugby Hall of Fame and IRB Hall of Fame. During the 1970s and 1980s, he played 58 times for Argentina, captaining them on 34 occasions, including leading them during the first World Cup in 1987. Porta made his international debut in 1971. His best performances for ''Los Pumas'' came in the late 1970s and early 1980s, with a draw with France in 1977, a 24–13 win against Australia in 1979, and a 21–21 draw with New Zealand in 1985. The Queensland Reds is the rugby union team based in Brisbane for the Australian state of Queensland that competes in the Southern Hemisphere's Super Rugby competition. Chris Roche
Christopher Roche (born 9 September 1958) is an Australian former rugby union international. Roche was born in Clifton, Queensland, near Toowoomba. After picking up the sport while a boarder at Downlands College, he was selected in the Downlands College First XV as a hooker in 1974. He then made the Australian Schools team in 1975 for a tour of New Zealand, playing as a hooker. He subsequently moved to Brisbane and played for the Brisbane State High School first XV and was selected in the 1976 Australian Schools Team. He finished his schooling at Brisbane State High School, by which time he had established himself as a flanker and was selected in the 1977 Australian Schools Team. David Ian Campese, AM (; born 21 October 1962), also known as Campo, is a former Australian rugby union player (1982–1996), who was capped by the Wallabies 101 times, and played 85 Tests at wing and 16 at fullback. Marcelo Loffreda
Marcelo Loffreda (born May 17, 1959, in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine former rugby union footballer and coach. Loffreda won 44 caps with one as captain, playing at centre for the Argentine rugby union side (''los Pumas''). He played much of his career outside the legendary Hugo Porta and scored 4 test tries. In 1994 he hung up his playing boots and became a coach. In April 2000, he was appointed coach of Argentina and steered them to series victories over France, Wales and Scotland, a draw with the British and Irish Lions, a win against England at Twickenham in November 2006 as well as coming close to securing the Pumas' first victories over South Africa and New Zealand. Oliver Bythe Hall (20 March 1952 — 13 November 2020) was an Australian actor and rugby union player. Biography Born in Wellington, New South Wales, Hall was the son of a grazier and grew up on the family farm.
