Elections to Liverpool City Council were held on 1 November 1910. Fourteen of the thirty-four wards were not contested. Liverpool City Council
Liverpool City Council is the governing body for the city of Liverpool in Merseyside, England. It consists of 90 councillors, three for each of the city's 30 wards. The council is currently controlled by the Labour Party and is led by Mayor Joanne Anderson. It is a constituent council of Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. History Liverpool has been a town since 1207 when it was granted its first charter by King John. It has had a town corporation (the Corporation of Liverpool) since before the 19th century, and this was one of the corporations reformed by the Municipal Corporations Act 1835. Garston (Liverpool Ward)
Garston ward is an electoral division of Liverpool City Council centred on the Garston district of the city. It was created in 1902 where three councillors were elected. It was dissolved in 1953. The ward was recreated in 2023 following a review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England which decided that the existing 30 wards each represented by three Councillors should be replaced by 64 wards represented by 85 councillors with varying representation by one, two or three councillors per ward. Prince's Park (Liverpool Ward)
Princes Park is a Liverpool City Council Ward in the Liverpool Riverside Parliamentary constituency. The population of the ward taken at the 2011 census was 17,104. The ward is ethnically diverse, with a 53% white, 16% black, 9% asian and 10% mixed ethnicity population. The ward was formed for the 2004 Municipal elections taking the whole of the former Granby ward with part of the former Abercromby ward. George Nelson (6 December 1868 – 15 February 1929) was a British trade unionist and politician, based in Liverpool. Born in Preston, Nelson grew up in Middlesbrough. Low Hill ward was an electoral district of Liverpool City Council. The ward was part of what is now the eastern edge of Liverpool City Centre and the Kensington district of Liverpool. Arthur Kilpin Bulley
Arthur Kilpin Bulley (10 January 1861 – 3 May 1942) was a British cotton merchant and creator of the Ness Botanic Gardens. He stood for Parliament as a women's suffrage candidate in 1910. Personal life Bulley was one of the 14 children of Samuel Marshall and Mary (née Raffles). He was born in New Brighton in 1861. He married Harriet Agnes Whishaw in 1890. They were both committed teetotallers and politically active. They had two children together, Agnes Lois Bulley (1901–1995) and Alfred Wishaw Bulley (born 1905). Bulley's sisters included Amy Bulley and Ella Sophia Armitage, who unusually had a university education. Career After leaving school he joined his family's cotton trading business, often travelling overseas where he developed an interest in uncommon plants. Bulley purchased 60 acres of land near Ness in Cheshire in 1898, in which he built a house and a plant nursery, opening parts of the garden for free to villagers. Kensington, Liverpool
Kensington is an inner city area of Liverpool, England, immediately to the east of the city centre, bordered by Everton to the north, Fairfield to the east and Edge Hill to the south. The majority of Kensington is in the Kensington and Fairfield ward, while the westernmost part, Kensington Fields, is in the Central ward. At the 2001 Census, Kensington had a population of 12,740. Description The area is occupied largely by Victorian terraced houses.
